Hate crime is any incident that is perceived by the victim, or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudiced based on race or ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, sexual identity or gender identity. 

If you think you've been a victim of a hate crime, you can't be wrong. It's the victim's perception of the incident that matters. 

LUU and the University have a zero tolerance approach to hate crimes and incidents. We take all reports seriously and we offer support to all victims. 

It is important to report hate crimes to prevent incidents from happening to others. You can report a hate crime anonymously and you don't have to talk to the police - but if you do, we can help you.
