Check the doors and windows have proper locks and maybe even a burglar alarm. Having a chat with the current tenants about any safety or security concerns they have is invaluable.

The risk of being a victim of crime isn’t necessarily down to where you live and you should take these steps on a daily basis to reduce the risk:

  • Lock your doors and windows when you’re both out and in the house as burglars like to target easy to get into properties.
  • Stay in well lit areas if you’re out and about, and don’t go through Hyde Park late at night.
