LUUHC Election 2026!

Nominations will be open from the 11th of march till 10am on the 25th.
 This window is your opportunity to nominate yourself for the committee positions ahead of the voting period. You will need to write a candidate statement to tell everyone why you are best suited for the role, and you will also be expected to make a speech on the evening of the AGM as well.  


It's election time again and time to welcome a new committee to the hiking club. There is a wide array of positions to run for, all with varying responsibilities. The 11 roles are:

- President

- Secretary

- Treasurer

- Trip Secretary

- Transport Secretary

- Social Secretary

- Gear Secretary

- Web Secretary

- Welfare Secretary

-  International Secretary

- General Committee

Additionally, as we don’t want the roles to seem daunting, please don't see the system as rigid or completely set-in-stone, in the past, roles have been moved around slightly with new roles created where needed. If you have any questions about where you might be able to fit into an LUUHC committee, let us know, and we’ll help you out along the way! If this is going to be your committee, it should work the way you want it to!

If you feel a role might be too much for you alone there is also the option of co-running where you can run with another person and both take on parts of one role. Please get in contact with the committee if you are interested in co-running.
