This one’s pretty self-explanatory. Use your imagination to come up with socials for all of your favourite hikers to join in with - the more out-there the better. 

The main big events to plan are the Christmas do, Fridge to Fridge and AGM but with many others throughout the year. Whether it’s ice skating or an Otley Run, you’re free to do anything that you want!

Beyond this, you’ll be the one creating Engage events for socials, and potentially other events like the welcome talk. You will also be working with the web sec to get the promo for your socials onto social media! You’ll also put up tickets on LUU Engage for your events.

Finally, you’ll do the admin for the Thursday socials which includes liaising with the pub of your choice and making a social post every week. 

Some social secs have also organised the games on club trips but this isn’t in the official role description - club trips are tiring!

All in all, it’s probably one of the most fun roles on committee and it is what you make it! It’s a great way to get organisation, communication and teamwork experience without some of the pressure that comes with the other roles.
