As Transport Sec you’ll be working closely with the Trip Sec to book coaches for Sunday hikes as well as vans and cars for weekend trips. Alongside the trip sec you are responsible for choosing drivers and deciding on vehicles, then you book these vehicles through the union and continue to liaise with the Activities office if any complications arise (and they will). You’ll also be communicating with drivers and prospective drivers about trips, authorisation, MiDAS qualification, etc.

You will also be in charge of vehicle logistics when on trips which, depending on the trip and routes chosen can end up fairly complicated so a good head for logistics is definitely useful. 

The role has weekly or fortnightly tasks, and is essential for the club to run, so it does require good organisational skills and attention to detail, but it’s not too demanding.
