Support with food
If you’re struggling to afford essentials such as food or hygiene products, there are a number of places you can go for support with no judgement attached. These services exist because everyone needs support sometimes and no one should have to face hardship alone.
On Campus
LUU Essentials provides low‑cost, everyday items to help students manage tight budgets. You can access it on the 1st floor of LUU or find out more here.
If you need more robust or on going support with food or other essentials you can contact The Advice Team to discuss your options for support.
Financial Support
If you need support with your finances you can find lots of useful information on our Engage page or you can contact the Advice Team to discuss your financial situation.
The Financial Wellbeing Team can help you boost your financial knowledge and skills with free workshops, drop-in support, and expert advice.
External Support
The Leeds Food Aid Network (FAN) exists to bring together a range of food aid providers, agency workers, the city Council and members of the wider public. It has a helpful list of most local food support services.
The Trussell Trust provide emergency food and practical support to people in their hardest moments. And work with partners and local communities to ensure everyone gets the right help long before they need a food bank.
