Dealing with exam stress

Exam season can feel like a lot but you’re not alone, and there are loads of simple, practical ways to look after yourself while keeping your studies on track. Here are some tips!

Break It Down With Manageable Goals

Setting realistic revision goals can be helpful. Creating a revision timetable helps you see what needs doing without feeling overwhelmed. It also gives you space to spread things out to avoid last minute cramming the night before a deadline.

Look After Yourself

It’s easy deprioritise sleep, meals, and downtime when exam stress kicks in. Getting proper rest, drinking water, eating decent meals, and moving your body all help reduce anxiety and make revision more efficient.

Take Breaks

Short but regular breaks help your brain process what you’ve learned. Whether you get outside for fresh air, do some stretching, or do a quick breathing exercise, stepping away can actually make your revision more effective.

Speak to other students

Chances are your friends or flatmates are feeling exactly the same way. Having an honest chat about how you’re coping can be a massive relief and a reminder that you’re not facing this on your own.
