Am I entitled to a tuition fee loan?

Tuition fee loans cover the cost of your tuition fees and are paid straight to the uni. This means the money never actually reaches your bank account, but you do still have to pay it back after you leave.

Whether or not you can get a loan and how much you get, depends on:

  • Your university or college
  • Your course
  • If you’ve studied a higher education course before
  • Your age
  • Your nationality or residency status

The rules sometimes change so to help you figure it out, use the Government Student Finance website.
