I need help with my appeal

LUU Advice has experienced staff who can help you with your case. If you’re thinking about making an appeal then come and speak to us as soon as possible so we can help. We can help you with all stages of the process.

We can help you with:

  • Deciding if appealing is the best thing to do
  • Letting you know how the whole process works
  • Checking the calculation of your degree classification (for taught students)
  • Advising you on any response the group asks for (for research postgraduate students)
  • How to structure your appeal statement and concluding comments
  • Supporting you at the Committee on Applications if applicable
  • Supporting you at any panel meetings (for research postgraduate students)
  • Advising you on the next stages if your appeal isn’t successful
If you want to start the process before you speak to us the Appeals Submission Form is here. There is also a useful flow chart which shows the appeals process and its stages here.

If you need more information about how it all works, you can contact Student Complaints and Appeals. They can give you information on the procedures but can’t help with the content of your appeal.

Please note that if you are in your final year making an appeal will delay your graduation date, meaning you will not graduate in the summer. If this is the case you will also need to contact the Graduation Office and let them know that you will not be attending your graduation ceremony.

For a step by step guide as to how to complete the appeals form, please see our video here.

If you find this process causes you anxiety then come for a chat with LUU Advice or check out the Big White Wall, an online health and wellbeing service.
