If a Health and Conduct concern is raised
You can be brought under this policy for reasons relating to conduct or ill health. For example, if you are unwell but refusing to seek treatment, and it is then having a knock-on effect on your ability to practise safely. Another example might be if you have behaved in an unprofessional way, which could jeopardise your ability to work appropriately with members of the public.
If a member of staff raises a health and/or conduct concern, someone from your School will ask to meet with you for an interview - this is to find out your version of what has happened. They will likely also ask if you are receiving appropriate support.
If you fail to attend this interview your case will be referred to the School’s Student Health and Conduct Panel.
If, at interview, they feel there are no concerns about your fitness to practise then there will either be no further action, or you might be required to receive support or monitoring (e.g. counselling, progression monitoring, etc.).
If they do feel there are concerns you will be referred to the School’s Student Health and Conduct Panel.
