GIAG: "Gail and Bharat" Screening & Discussion with Somnath Waghmare
As a part of our GIAG events, the Dr. Ambedkar Society at the University of Leeds invites you to a special screening of the documentary "Gail and Bharat."
The film celbrates the shared life and seminal work of Dr. Gail Omvedt and Dr. Bharat Patankar, whose decades of activism and scholarship have been foundational to the anti-caste and social justice movements in India.
Following the screening, we are honoured to host an interactive discussion and Q&A session with the director, Somnath Waghmare, an acclaimed filmmaker and prominent anti-caste documentarian. This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with the filmmaker about his work and the profound legacy of Gail and Bharat.
