Welcome to the LGBT+ Society EGM! Please read this guidance before nominating yourself and voting.

Only members of the society can nominate themselves for roles and vote. If you would like to take part in the EGM, please buy your membership here. 

We are electing 2 roles - events officers, and welfare officers. Our committee works non-hierarchically and shares responsibilities for all types of work, but we need help in organising events and improving the welfare of queer students on campus.

We especially encourage nominations from students from other marginalised backgrounds, particularly from queer students of colour, and transfeminine people. 

This EGM will elect up to 2 events officers and up to 3 welfare officers.

We have 3 nomination positions for welfare officers - we have a nomination form for students from all backgrounds, one specifically for trans and genderqueer students, and we have a nomination form specifically for queer students of colour. If you do not self-identify as a trans person, or a person of colour, please nominate yourself under the any background role. If you are a trans person and/or a person of colour, you may nominate yourself under any of the 3 nomination forms you are most comfortable with. All of our welfare roles are the same - there are specific nominations for marginalised queer people so we can ensure wider voices and representation on committee.

We believe the voices and experiences of committee members enriches the work we do, and are excited to work with our new officers to advance the liberation and joy of queer students, particularly of queer students from marginalised backgrounds.
