Dear fellow LGBTQ+ people,

I am Kiy who was previously the LGBT+ Society secretary for a short time before I had to give up my position to study abroad last year. I'm a third year student studying Asia Pacific Studies and Japanese, and I'm transgender and autistic with a multicultural background.

I have experience organising and running events in three different societies, so I know this can be a stressful role. However, I am enjoying the direction the society is going in this year, so I believe that offering my time to assist the committee is worth it.

If I was your events officer, I would like to organise events such as the following:
• Monthly trans* pub socials
• An art exhibition
• An LGBTQ+ dance or martial arts session
• A gaming event
• An educational event such as LGBTQ+ sex ed
• A movie night
• A housing advice drop-in
• Events that you would like to see happen !!

I would also like to attend around three coffee hours a week.

Most importantly, I would like to organise a diversity of events to represent a diversity of members.

In the past, I have struggled with events being inaccessible for me as an autistic person, so I hope my knowledge and experience can help other neurodiverse students to enjoy our events. I aim to ensure events are well-organised and run smoothly, where no attendee is ignored or forgotten about.

I also have never joined a sports society as I feel uncomfortable due to not being cis, so I would like to explore the possibilities of an LGBTQ+ dance or martial arts session, or maybe even another sport.

Hi, I am an international postgraduate student from china, majoring in music management; I am a heterosexual but LGBT ally. Before starting my uni lift in Leeds, I worked officially for one year, so I have experience with organisational and office tasks. The reason why I want to become one of the LGBT committee members is that I have many friends in China who are queer, lesbian and transgender; I know what they are going through and how difficult to get their rights and be treated equally and respectfully, so that why I want to do something for these groups and want to give some help and amplify the voices of the LGBT people.
