Criminal Offences

If you are being investigated by the Police, including if your case goes to court, the University will pause any proceedings under GUDR and await the outcome. They can still temporarily withdraw you while investigations are continuing if they think it’s necessary.

If you’re found not guilty, the University will not act further in relation to that offence. If you’re found guilty but have a non-custodial sentence then the University may choose to proceed with a Disciplinary case. Students receiving custodial sentences will be withdrawn from the University, but there is a process to request readmittance.

If you do not tell the University about being interviewed by the Police, they can bring you under Disciplinary proceedings.
