Welcome to LUUMS (Music)
Leeds University Union Music Society (LUUMS) is one of the largest societies in LUU, dedicated to providing a welcoming space for all musicians. No matter your musical ability, where your interests lie or what you study, LUUMS has a something for you.

All rehearsals take place in the School of Music, in Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall, the Rehearsal Hall or Lecture Theatres.
LUUMS encompasses 11 different ensembles, both open and auditioned. Each ensemble performs in a minimum of 3 concerts per year, in venues including the Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall, All Souls Church and St. George’s Church. We also host termly solo & chamber showcases, where you can perform in small groups or on your own!
Additionally, LUUMS has an exciting social calendar. Rehearsals are typically followed by a trip to Old Bar or Terrace in LUU, and the year is packed full of socials for everyone to get involved in. These include our annual Intro Party, Otley Runs and BYOB (bring-your-own-bowl) soup social, as well as the highlight of our social calendar, LUUMS Ball! In addition, our ensembles host their own socials including bowling, mini golf and ice-skating.
Each summer, our auditioned ensembles tour around the UK and Europe, providing an exciting opportunity to perform outside of Leeds. Similarly, Brass Band partake in TriUni and UniBrass, which this year will be hosted at Durham and Oxford universities respectively.

Membership
An annual membership costs £20. If you are a student at the University of Leeds, purchase a 'Standard Membership', if you are a graduate or a student of another Leeds university, purchase a 'Participant Membership'. This will get you access to all ensembles, socials, and departmental events for the 26/27 academic year.
Those who just wish to join our socials, departmental events and watch concerts can buy a 'Departmental Membership' which is £10 for the year. Contact our Departmental Representative, Louis Stephenson, luums.departmental@gmail.com, for more info.
Through an annual donation or one-off Pay-as-you-feel gift, alumni, friends and family of LUUMS members can support us by joining our donorship scheme.
