We are a non-auditioned society for anyone interested in playing Jazz, Blues, Funk and Soul music.

There are many opportunities to perform with our big band, but you can also join us for socials and attend gigs if performing isn’t for you.

Performing music

Rehearsals for the band are every Monday 6:45pm-9pm in the University Union. We organise regular gigs in the student union in addition to other venues around Leeds such as Headrow House, Belgrave, Brudenell Social club and many more.

This year we are aiming to do more collaborations with other music and performance societies as well as more regular jazz nights in various locations around Leeds.

Gigs and socials

We go to Old Bar after every weekly big band rehearsal on Mondays at 9pm to meet and get to know the other members in our society. There are also regular socials at venues such as Eldon and Belgrave as well as other events like an Otley run, film nights and society dinners.

Membership

There is one membership price of £12 for the year, which will allow you access to great gigs and socials, often with the discounts that we have as a society.
