Welcome to Dance Expose

Dance Exposé is a troupe of 50 students brought together by their passion for dance.

From contemporary to commercial, street dance to ballet, we pride ourselves on the diversity of our dancers. Our semi-annual shows allow us the chance to show off all of our talent, diversity and fun encompassed within the society. Over the years, Exposé has been recognised by the Leeds University Union (LUU) with a number of awards including ‘Best Society 2013’, ‘Best Long Standing Collaboration 2014 and 2022’ (with LUU Backstage) and ‘Best Dance Society 2016’.

You don’t have to choose between dance styles with Dance Exposé! Being an entirely student-run dance society gives all of our members huge opportunities to learn new styles and techniques, as well as work together to choreograph, produce and promote various performances throughout the year, including our annual 3 night sell out show!

But that’s not all! Dance Exposé also offer you the chance to compete both within the union and against other universities throughout the year, as well as other performances and appearances such as the LUU Dance Show!

Our weekly socials are a great way to get to make new friends and get to know everyone in exposé. We host a large variety of themed socials at a variation of different clubs in Leeds. There is something for everyone from daytime to night time fun. Our Dance Mom and Dance baby buddy system is a lovely way for current members to make new members feel welcome and get to know people across different year groups! We are one big family at exposé and our nights out are where the bonding and fun happens!!

We welcome students of all ages, dance backgrounds and levels of experience to come to our auditions. We’re looking for committed, passionate and versatile dancers to join us – we just want to see you DO YOUR THING.

In the audition, we’ll take you through a warm up, teach you a short routine and you’ll have an amazing time!

No need to bring specific dance gear, just make sure you wear something comfortable that you can move in and bring a bottle of water and a snack too.

Auditions are held at the beginning of the academic year - this is the only time we accept new members for the upcoming year so it’s really important that you audition. This year auditions will be held in the Riley Smith theatre on the 4th and 5th October at 7pm, and on the 6th October at 5pm.

Membership for the year is priced at £49 - this will become available to purchase after auditions. This is a one-time fee that allows our members to attend training, competition and show classes free of charge, and also to socials and events!

From your 2024/25 Committee, we can't wait to meet you soon!
