Reading Session: Annihilation of Caste
Join the Dr. Ambedkar Society, University of Leeds, for the Inaugural Reading Circle, commemorating India’s 77th Republic Day.
We will be holding a reading and discussion on the contemporary relevance of Annihilation of Caste by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, followed by an open and reflective discussion.
✨ With Santosh Dass MBE
Santosh Dass MBE is a former civil servant and a prominent human rights and equality campaigner who has long advocated for caste-based discrimination to be outlawed in the UK. She is Chair of the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance and served as the first female President of the Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organisations UK (2013–2023). Her co-edited and co-authored book, Ambedkar in London (Hurst), was published in December 2022.
