Welcome back Wildlings!

We are so excited to start the new year off with a bang! We've got so much fun planned for you all :)

We're excited to announce that our Re-Fresher's GIAG will take place at Ilkley Moor!

Please come prepared in sensible clothing and footwear (see the Kit List below) as well as will be going regardless of the weather. We will be checking people's kit at the station to ensure it's appropriate before we get on the train.

The GIAG is open to everyone, including current members. We will be focussing on A-E assessments for the newer members and testing your Wilderness knowledge if you've been with us before.

The GIAG is absolutely FREE to attend, all you need to buy is the return train ticket, details below…

When and Where:

We'll be meeting at 9am on Sunday 26th January outside the main entrance to Leeds Train Station (https://maps.app.goo.gl/JDYBKayXpVsZvdQ19) to get the 9:15 train to Ilkley. We will begin walking to the platform by 09:10am, so please don't be late.

We'll be hiking from Ilkley Station and enjoying a picnic lunch on the Moor. The route is about 10km (6 miles) and we'll be guiding you through some classic wilderness medicine scenarios en route. The GIAG will end when we get back to Ilkley at around 3-4pm (depending how fast you walk). Some of committee will be staying in Ilkley to explore the local cafes/pubs - you're more than welcome to join us or return to Leeds once we get back.

Please buy your return train ticket before the GIAG. This is easiest on https://www.thetrainline.com/ or direct through Northern Rail. An off-peak day return ticket should cost about £5 with a railcard.

Kit List
