Knaresborough and Mother Shipton's Cave - 10/05/25
Beneath a viaduct lies Knaresborough, a picturesque little market town built into the side of a rocky hill. Cobbled paths and stone staircases weave up and down between the riverside boats and cafés, leading to the ruins of Knaresborough Castle and the historic town centre.
Included in this trip is entry to Mother Shipton's Cave, England's oldest tourist attraction! Mother Shipton is England's most famous Prophetess. The legend is that she foretold the fates of several rulers within and just after her lifetime, as well as the invention of iron ships, the Great Fire of London in 1666, and the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Come and see for yourself the cave where she was born and the historic forest in which she grew up and lived as well as seeing some of the most beautiful rock formations!
