Inter-Uni Peaks Day - Sunday 16th February
Hello Wildlings!
Join us for our first ever Inter-Uni WM hike with Sheffield and Nottingham!
Where: Bamford, Hope Valley, Peak District
When: 10AM Heatherdeane Car Park, Bamford, Sunday 16th February (///submitted.actual.milkman)
We're super excited to have got the ball rolling on this and hope you are too. This trip is a fantastic opportunity to meet your counterparts from universities across the North, make some new friends and have a lovely day out in the Peaks whilst we're at it.
We're finalizing plans with the other unis about how much we focus on wilderness scenarios, but due to the sheer size of the group we anticipate the focus will mostly be on walking, socializing, and immaculate vibes.
>> TICKETS will go LIVE on Thursday 13th February at 6pm
Please read the below carefully to understand how it's all going to work, especially the section about travel arrangements.

TRAVEL & MEETING ARRANGEMENTS
Each uni is bringing similar sized groups of people (~20 per uni). This number is currently larger than our available cars/car seats. We didn't want to limit our ticket numbers based on numbers of car seats, so here's the plan:
There are a few slots in some committee member's cars however there are currently more available tickets than there are car seats. We will fill the cars on a first-come, first-serve basis and arrange meeting times using the WhatsApp Group. If you can drive/have a car and are happy to give lifts please indicate on the form and we'll be in touch. Those we can't fit in the cars will need to make their own way to Bamford for a 10AM start. All this is hopefully pretty clear on the Google form, which requires you to indicate what your plans are.
** Please be aware that since this trip is free, transport costs will not be covered by the society. Train tickets will need to be purchased at your own expense and drivers may ask you to chip in for a bit of petrol money (likely between £3-5, but may vary based on car size/passenger numbers etc.). We're trying to get as many drivers as possible to reduce the overall cost per person.**
Hopefully this means you have a bit more flexibility in how you get there too!
If you need to make your own way to Bamford, the easiest way to do this is by return train (cost is ~£19 with a Railcard) and can be booked using https://www.thetrainline.com
Currently the train is scheduled to leave Leeds Train Station at 8:11 and arrive in Bamford at 9:35, changing trains Sheffield (I recommend a window seat as the second part of the journey is really lovely!). Apparently, you can also get to Bamford from Sheffield by catching the 272 Bus should you so wish. From there, head to the car park which is a few minutes walk outside the village.
