I would like to be considered for 4th Year Representative for Cutting Edge to help develop and facilitate more of the highly useful opportunities that have been offered in previous years. Having been a keen member of Cutting Edge since my first year, I would love to contribute to the running of the society.

Firstly, having found the 3rd Year OSCE highly useful, I would seek to ensure that a 4th Year Mock OSCE can be as beneficial as possible and smoothly ran, ensuring excellent planning and execution like I experienced this year in the 3rd year Mock OSCE.

I will work alongside the Skills & Education Coordinators to develop new opportunities targeted around the 4th year content. This could include focusing on developing events or learning opportunities with other societies such as LOGsoc or LUMPS to run events tailored around surgery, relating this to the content in 4th Year, such as looking at careers in paediatric surgery, paediatric orthopaedic surgery and similar while continuing to work with other committee members to promote other opportunities to 4th year students.

I am committed to ensuring I work well within the Cutting Edge team and undertake the role to the best of my ability.

Hello everyone I’m Angela, I’m currently Intercalating doing a MRes and will be joining back into 4th year this September. I have been previously been part of Cutting Edge as a secretary. Because of this I’m familiar with how the society runs and how to organise events successfully. I have also been part of CardioSoc for several years now and having been president this year has developed my leader skills. If I was elected as a clinical rep I would focus on early OSCEE practice for 4th students to help to get used to the step up from Y3. I will also organise revision sessions focusing on areas that the medical school doesn’t cover, such as pharmacology. I have been interested in surgery for a while and would like to hold events to clarify what surgery is truly like for clinical students who are approaching their working years. I hope this has convinced you to vote for me!
