My desire is to bring the best out of my committee members and I trust they will bring the best out of me, they will challenge me, but they can trust and hold me accountable. I hope to inspire and I undoubtedly know I will be inspired by them.

I see a vision for Shocksoc. A vision to make Shocksoc standout. Without sounding too much of an overpromising politician. I really hope that this year Shocksoc can provide engineering learning opportunities and encourage an up and coming wave of engineers that care about making a difference to our world in the most practical way. Those that care about meaning and want to do their best to help tackle the problems we face in our selfless world. Specifically, I see Shocksoc becoming a place of super curricular learning to hone in on technical, soft skills and be able to host rich networking/fun events. To give an example of a technical workshop, this is learning electronic PCB design software. We would like to host workshops that teach you what University does not, or at least allow you to dip your toes into industry.

My insight is that the committee and I will work hard in the summer to prepare for the academic year ahead in the logistics of arranging these big dreams and executing them during the year. I want the committee to represent our values as engineers through and through that vibrantly shining community, a place of belonging. I hope Shocksoc can make all the incoming Engineers proud. Ambitiously, I hope Shocksoc can collaborate with other Engineering University societies, realistically in the UK, but not strictly constrained to, this is what we ironically are lacking in the 21st Century, a place to belong with those that care about the same things, in a grand community.
