As poc Welfare officer i will not only back you at the table but give you a seat at it😤.

Helping and being there for people has always been my speciality and i know i will excel at this too :))

Hi! I'm Finn (they/them), I'm a first-year English Literature and Creative Writing student, and I'm nominating myself to be a POC welfare officer because I think now more than ever it's important to ensure everyone feels included in a safe space like LGBTSoc. Coming to university my biggest priority was making queer friends, but I've often found that this can be quite daunting as a person of colour because there can often be a perception of queer spaces as primarily catering to white people. As a POC welfare officer I'd love to build on the work that's already being done to make LGBTSoc a multicultural, vibrant place for people of colour to express themselves in a way that suits us best. The QTIPOC meetup at Pixel and subsequent night at Obsidian is an event that I personally really appreciated and I'd love to carry on holding events like this and even collaborating with other societies, to spread that unmatched feeling of joy and acceptance!
