Hi, my names Izzy. I’m a second year Music and Music Psychology student, and I would love to become your LUUMS Treasurer for 2026/27. The past two years of being in LUUMS has been a highlight of my university experience. This opportunity is perfect for me to continue being involved. I currently sing in both Symphonic choir and Chorus and this year I have had the pleasure of being manager for chorus.

For the past academic year (2025/26) I have had the joys of being LUUMS’ Fundraising and Sponsorship Officer. I am incredibly grateful to have been given this role as I have enjoyed every minute of it. One of my favourite parts of this role is being in contact with the ensembles and seeing what each ensemble have been getting up to from socials they hold each semester to the variety of music they all play in each concert series. I pride myself in staying organised and keeping a high level of communication with all ensembles ensuring they are all given plenty of time to complete the tasks I give them.

This year I was Sponsorship director on the subcommittee for LUUMS 100. This role consisted of making sure we had the money to put on the amazing event. This meant I wrote multiple grant applications to be able to ensure that we were successful. (Which we were!!). Following on from this I have a lot of communication with union working on budget tracking to review how much money we were spending from both successful grant application. This has meant I have had to stay organised and on top of all my spreadsheets to ensure that the event runs financially well. Alongside this, I also gained a relationship with the school of music to create our new ‘Supporter Scheme’. This has allowed LUUMS to work with the school of music to create a new programme.

Being one of the managers of chorus has taught me a lot this year. Not only have I grown in a confidence over the year, but I have learnt the importance of organising, budgeting and decision making, all of which I can apply to my treasurer role to be able to manage all the ensembles funds. I am also comfortable handling and managing money to be able to track and budget and I am good at making tough decisions when necessary.

This coming year I would love to make sure all ensembles have the funds to be able to support all the things that they would like to do. I would also love to make sure LUUMS is accessible to all to make sure no one is left behind. This means working with the new Fundraising and Sponsorship Officer to make sure the new Sponsorship Scheme is successful to make new opportunities for the members of LUUMS.

I'm a second year maths and music student who's really enjoyed being on wider exec as strings manager this year and I'd like to take on some more responsibility this year. As a maths student I am confident with numbers, data and spreadsheets and would genuinely really enjoy this role. I am always willing to give a helping hand and I'd love to have a role where I can work across all the ensembles. It would be my top priority to respond quickly to any queries ensembles have about their budget and help LUUMS to keep being the amazing society that it is!
