Hi I’m Annie, I play Double Bass and I’m currently a Maths and Music student in my first year. I’m applying for this role because I’d love the chance to give something back to LUUMS in a more practical way.

Since joining the society in September, I’ve been involved across board in quite a few of the ensembles so I know how much LUUMS offers, as well as the responsibility it takes to help its operations run effectively.

I’ve been involved in orchestras and musical collectives for as long as I can remember and if elected to this role I’d be privileged to dedicate my time, effort, and care to making sure concerts run as smoothly as possible while making sure everyone feels supported and included.

Alongside performing, I’ve also had experience helping organise and run concerts behind the scenes. In sixth form I founded a quintet, for which I helped coordinate rehearsals and communicated with concert organisers. As a music rep, I helped run concerts, organise performers, assist with programme notes, and run fundraising events. Through all of this, I’ve learned how important good organisation and communication are in making concerts enjoyable and low-stress for everyone involved.

I’m approachable and friendly, but I’m also reliable and confident taking responsibility when needed. I care a lot about making sure people get the most out of their university music experience, whether they’re performing in their first concert or have been involved in orchestras for years.

LUUMS has already become such an important part of my university experience, and I’d love the opportunity to contribute more to the society and help put on concerts that people can really enjoy and feel proud to be part of.
