Hi I’m Bethan, and this year I have had the pleasure of being LUUMS’ concerts manager! Next year, I would love to continue being on committee, but in the capacity of publicity officer! Alongside being concerts manager for LUUMS this year, I have been publicity officer for one of the union’s volunteering societies- LUUMIC- as well as being on the social media team for the National Open Youth Orchestra, where I created infographics for different events throughout the year, and, from doing posts with NOYO, I have also learnt how to make posts more accessible, and this is something I would love to bring forward to this role. I’ve had so much fun doing those jobs this year, and would love to continue to develop my skills in these ares by being publicity officer for LUUMS next year.

When it comes to making programmes, I also have some experience in that, having had to do it for my own recitals in the past, as well as for concerts I ran before coming to uni. When it comes to the completion of posts by deadlines, I know I would be able to that, having had to manage my time well this year in order to balance being concerts manager with my studies, and other commitments in my life, as well as having to meet deadlines for NOYO, so posts can be reviewed before being released on certain dates. I am both a creative and organised person, and I would be committed to the role, as well as have a lot of fun in it. Overall, I think the above make me a great candidate for publicity officer, and I would love the opportunity to give back to LUUMS, having been part of it for the past two years. Hey!! I think I would be a good candidate for publicity officer because I have prior experience with media when I worked at a scout camp running the social media with a team for the event. I have also ran my school's twitter account. Although I do a maths degree, I am also creative loving to bake, crochet, and obviously do anything music related.
