Hello! I'm Emily and I am nominating myself for 3rd Year Representative for 3 reasons:

1. My past experience as 2nd year rep for MSRC means that many of you will have seen how I am quick to communicate and competently advocate for our year group. I am also proactive in making suggestions and implementing them. Additionally, I have demonstrated how I am organised, efficient and keen to fulfil my role to the best of my ability.

2. I am really enthusiastic about getting involved with and learning more about emergency medicine as a specialty. This means that I would be excited to maximise the opportunities for our year group and voice any suggestions you may have as we all will have a shared interest!

3. CrashSoc is still relatively new which means there are plenty more potential events to create and I would really like to be able to put some ideas forward and help shape the future of the society. Emergency medicine is a busy field with lots happening and I think I could help the society reflect that!

After a placement rotation in A&E, where I was shadowing the senior consultant, I gained a snapshot of what emergency medicine truly is and instantly fell in love with it. To this day thinking about it still gets me so excited, and hungry for more experience and insight into this thrilling and crucial specialty. As a 2nd year medical student I still have a long way to go, but I want to get more involved, to learn more about this career path, how I can embark on it and how I can help the society to create and organise such resources for any other passionate individual. I hope you give me the chance to represent 3rd year med on the committee of Crash Soc. Thank you for reading!
