The Early Years Representative is responsible for distributing information about CRASHsoc events to both first and second-year medical students. The role involves both raising awareness of CRASHsoc as the University of Leeds Society for Acute and Emergency Medicine and suggesting events that CRASHsoc can hold that are beneficial to these year groups. For example, they can raise awareness by posting about events on their own social media accounts and writing messages on group chats to engage members of first and second year in CRASHsoc events. The Early Years Representative can also use committee meetings and the CRASHsoc committee group chat to suggest and help to organise events that would be of interest to first and second year medical students. Useful skills for this role include enthusiasm for Acute and Emergency medicine, strong social connections within their year group and ability to develop social connections in the year below come September, and a familiarity with social media sites such as Instagram. Becoming a year representative is a great way to show your enthusiasm for CRASHsoc and for Acute and Emergency Medicine!
