The Volunteer and Boathouse Coordinator is responsible for the organisation of all volunteers within the club, from volunteer coaches to external volunteering positions, alongside ensuring that the boathouse and it's equipment are well maintained. The role involves organising volunteer coaching for all squads, supporting Dan (Head of Rowing) in coach development, running coaches meetings and seminars, and advertising any external volunteering positions sent to us such as supporting National Junior Indoors and positions at BUCS regatta. This role requires a high level of organisation, good communication skills and a love for rowing. A new aspect of the role is ensuring that the boathouse is well-maintained, such as ensuring that the cleaning rota is followed, as well as working with Dan to ensure that members who wish to be are trained appropriately in boat repairs, alongside co-ordinating boat maintenance and repairs. It is important to note that the role is not solely responsible for the repair and upkeep of the fleet, instead co-ordinates trained members to carry out maintenance and repairs.
