The Fundraising and Campaigning Officer position is integral to working with the Politcal Campaigning Officer to help Femsoc fulfill its purpose to promote significant change!
This role is great if you want to use the societies resources to give back to the community. It is great to have someone that is creative in coming up with fundraising activities as well as someone that is keen in attending meetings that organise potential action for the Leeds Community. It is also really beneficial to have someone that is very involved in community action like our current officer, as this role has the potential to get involved in significant change for Leeds Community such as Right to Walk and Reclaim the Night.
While no role on the femsoc committee works in isolation, the fundraising and campaign role will involve communicating with a whole range of stakeholders, including members, charities, donors and the university itself. It can also include creating marketing content, thinking up cool new fundraising ideas, choosing feminist charities to donate to and so much more. The best fundraising activity from this year was our Period Party, made in collaboration with POLIS soc, of which we collected loads of period products and donations to help tackle Period Poverty in Brazil.
If you consider yourself to be politically active, charity orientated, organised and passionate about making significant change then this is the perfect role for you.
