Eligibility for student finance depends on a number of factors.

The course being studied - not every programme attracts the same funding.

Residence - Students must normally have settled status, normal residence, and 3 years residency. Defining this can be very complex in some cases.

Previous study - students can only get funding for a certain number of years and cannot get funding for an equal or lower course.
