BUCS Riding Membership
Teams are aimed at experienced riders who can ride a novice dressage test and jump a course of 80cm. You will ride a variety of horses and must be confident getting on an unfamiliar horse. We have four teams where you will compete against two other universities in dressage and showjumping on a two randomly allocated horse. We run training sessions for team members on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in small groups, which are organised on WhatsApp.
Team riders have the opportunity to qualify for regional and national events, and each team will compete in 3-5 competitions throughout the year. You must be willing to attend Wednesday sports fixtures and regular trainings. We have 4 teams, 3 of those competing in the BUCs league and one in the Development League.
To be considered for teams, you must attend Flat Trials first. From then, you may be invited to our Jump Trials which teams will be determined. Trials are held at the start of semester 1.
