Who We Are

The LUU Indonesian Society is the official "home away from home" for all Indonesian students studying and living in the Greater Leeds area. We are formally recognised by the Leeds University Union (LUU) and are also known as PPI Greater Leeds (Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia, or Indonesian Students' Association).

Our primary goal is to unite the Indonesian community, provide a strong support system for new and current students, and share our vibrant and diverse culture with the wider Leeds community.

Our Community: More Than Just One University

We proudly represent a diverse community of students from various institutions. Our membership is open to all Indonesian students in the Greater Leeds area, including (but not limited to):

University of Leeds

Leeds Beckett University

University of Huddersfield

University of Bradford

...and any other colleges or institutions in the region.

What We Do

Throughout the year, we host a wide range of events and manage programs designed to bring our community together. Our activities include:

Social & Community Events (Live Laugh Leeds): We regularly host gatherings to build a strong, close-knit family. Our events include the Welcoming Party for new students, 17 Agustus (Independence Day) celebrations, community potlucks like TTBT (Tutup Tahun Buka Tupperware), Buka Bersama (Iftar), Halal Bi Halal, and many more.

Sports (LeedSport): We are active in sports! We coordinate regular activities like futsal, badminton, and basketball through our community groups. We also proudly represent our community and compete in the annual PPI UK Olympics, where our teams have successfully won championships!.

Information & Support (Suara Leeds): We run the "Suara Leeds" official website, your go-to digital hub for essential information. This includes pre-departure guides for new students, tips for Life in Leeds, and publications for our community.

Community Identity (Leeds Apparel): We design and manage official society merchandise, such as jerseys and stickers, to unite our community and show our #SoLeeds pride.

Support Network: We manage the official student SENSUS (census) and official WhatsApp groups to ensure all our members are connected, informed, and supported.

Siapa Kami

LUU Indonesian Society adalah "rumah kedua" yang resmi bagi seluruh mahasiswa Indonesia yang studi dan tinggal di kawasan Greater Leeds. Kami diakui secara resmi oleh Leeds University Union (LUU) dan juga dikenal sebagai PPI Greater Leeds (Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia).

Tujuan utama kami adalah untuk menyatukan komunitas Indonesia, menyediakan jaringan dukungan (support system) yang kuat bagi mahasiswa baru dan lama, serta berbagi budaya kami yang kaya dan beragam kepada komunitas Leeds yang lebih luas.

Komunitas Kami: Lebih dari Satu Universitas

Kami mewakili komunitas mahasiswa yang beragam dari berbagai institusi. Keanggotaan kami terbuka untuk semua mahasiswa Indonesia di kawasan Greater Leeds, termasuk (namun tidak terbatas pada):

Apa yang Kami Lakukan

Sepanjang tahun, kami mengadakan berbagai acara dan mengelola program yang dirancang untuk mempererat komunitas kita. Kegiatan kami meliputi:

Acara Sosial & Komunitas (Live Laugh Leeds): Kami rutin mengadakan acara kumpul untuk membangun kekeluargaan yang erat. Acara kami meliputi Welcoming Party untuk mahasiswa baru, perayaan 17 Agustus, acara makan bersama seperti TTBT (Tutup Tahun Buka Tupperware), Buka Bersama, Halal Bi Halal, dan banyak lagi.

Olahraga (LeedSport): Kami aktif di bidang olahraga! Kami mengoordinasi kegiatan olahraga rutin seperti futsal, badminton, dan basket melalui grup komunitas kami. Kami juga dengan bangga mewakili komunitas kami dan berkompetisi di PPI UK Olympics tahunan, di mana tim kami telah berhasil meraih juara!.

Informasi & Dukungan (Suara Leeds): Kami mengelola website resmi "Suara Leeds", portal informasi digital Anda untuk info penting. Ini termasuk panduan pre-departure untuk mahasiswa baru, tips Life in Leeds, dan ruang publikasi untuk komunitas kami.

Identitas Komunitas (Leeds Apparel): Kami mendesain dan mengelola merchandise resmi, seperti jersey dan stiker, untuk menyatukan komunitas dan menunjukkan kebanggaan #SoLeeds kami.
