Welcome to Sailing Club
Leeds University Sailing Club love everything to do with sailing - we take any excuse to get out on the water.
LUSC welcomes all abilities of sailing, whether you're looking to gain new skills or improve old ones. We offer Give it a Go and Social sailing, where you can learn the basics of how to sail and boat handling. We compete in Team Racing events across the UK, allowing you to get into competitive sailing whilst at University. We also offer opportunities in Keelboat and Yachting, covering all levels of experience from GIAGs to the 707-class National competitions.
Training
We run regular training for dinghy and yacht sailing, which we align with events, so there are always activities to get involved with every weekend.
We run all dinghy training at Ripon Sailing Club, where we have Team Racing and Social Sailing sessions every weekend or Wednesday. All yachting opportunities are every other Sunday at Scarborough Yacht Club.
Membership
Membership allows subsidised cost on transport and events, as well as access to all our amazing instructors and equipment whenever you come sailing. Sailing is often considered an expensive sport to take up; membership with us makes it one of the most affordable ways to sail.
Socials
We have weekly socials, from parties and outings to our infamous Summer Social. Weekly socials have varied in the past from climbing to joint socials with other Outdoor Societies to themed club nights – there will always be a social for everyone.
