Leeds Extended Reality Society is for you!

LXRS is a society dedicated to building a network of students interested in XR technology, all completely for free - you don't even need your own equipment! We are an inclusive society open to all, whether you're a VR pro or have never even touched a headset, and no matter who you are.

Every semester, we host a variety of events with one happening every two weeks. We often play singleplayer and multiplayer games in VR, open to all skill levels, and we also run other types of events, including talks from industry professionals and collaborations with other societies at LUU. These events offer you clarity and insight into the complex world of XR, as well as a fun time for all. You might be racing in VR one week, and immersing yourself in groundbreaking VR short-films the next.

We work closely with the Centre of Immersive Technologies and host our events at HELIX, the University of Leeds’ premiere XR space, to help you grow professionally and expand your educational and social experience at Leeds.

How do I get involved? 

Simply by getting a membership and coming along - you can get one from the ‘Memberships’ tab on this page. Once you have one, you can come to as many or as few events of ours as you like - no pressure!

We will be hosting a “Give It A Go” session in late September / early October, offering you the chance to try our events to see if you like them.
