Leeds University Union Swimming & Water Polo is the University’s second-largest mixed BUCS sports society (over 200 members!), bringing together competitive sport, an active social scene and a welcoming community for our members.

Both our swimming and water polo teams compete nationally in British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions. With up to 8 swimming sessions and 4 water polo sessions each week, we cater for a range of abilities and ambitions, from athletes competing at a high level to members looking to train, improve and stay fit.

Away from training and competition, we have a thriving social scene with regular Wednesday socials alongside a packed calendar of events throughout the year, including our annual Easter tour to Croatia.

Above all, we are a club built around our members. Whether in the pool, competing for Leeds or at one of our events, we aim to create an inclusive and enjoyable environment where members can make friends, get involved and become part of a community that lasts well beyond university.

Teams

Swimming:

• Performance Squad - BUCS Nationals
• Competition Squad - BUSL Team Championships
• Development Squad - Friendly competitions

Water Polo:

• 1st Team - BUCS Northern Tier 1 (Weekly matches)
• 2nd Team - UWPCL League (Weekly matches)

Training

Swimming:

• Performance Squad - 6 sessions a week
• Competition Squad - 2-4 sessions a week
• Development Squad - 2 sessions a week

Water Polo:

• 1st Team - 3-4 sessions a week
• 2nd Team - 2-3 sessions a week
