*At Leeds, societies hold Give It A Go (GIAG) sessions which allow you to try out the society before buying a membership. Our GIAG is completely free and beginner friendly - it's a great way to meet our committee, get to know new and returning members and see what we're all about!

So who are we?

We are the Riley Award-nominated Performing Arts Society, the University's only non-audition, all-inclusive musical theatre & performance society. We offer a range of weekly singing, dancing and acting classes in a relaxed and supportive environment. Throughout the year, we develop our performance skills in classes led by experienced students, all working towards our annual showcase at the end of the year! We welcome all levels of experience, so whether you have a passing interest or a deep love for musical theatre, feel free to come and give us a go!

Our Schedule

Our classes for Semester 1 are as follows:

Monday: Room 2 - Dance Class (18:00-19:30)

Friday: Room 2 - Alternating Singing/Acting Classes (17:30-19:00)

At the end of the academic year, in May, we hold an annual showcase, where we give our members an opportunity to perform on stage, showcasing what we've been working on throughout the year. This involves a mix of group and solo performances. Our showcase is unique in that it provides the opportunity for members to perform any musical theatre number they like! There is no audition process and you will get the full support of our teaching team, committee and fellow members - at PAS, we believe that whether you're a seasoned professional or you've never set foot on a stage, you deserve a chance to showcase your talents!

Membership

Our membership for the 2025/26 academic year will be £20; the money we gain from memberships goes towards providing the best experience we can for you, including paying our teaching staff, subsidizing socials and, of course, our showcase!

We really want everyone to be able to join, so if the membership is not financially accessible for you, then please speak to the committee as we are more than happy to help!

Socials

We have a great variety of bi-monthly socials, from cosy movie nights in to fun nights out, but we will make sure we have both drinking and non-drinking events so that everyone feels welcome. Some examples from last year are…..
