Bienvenue to the French soc family! Anyone who has an interest in the language or the culture, wants to practice their French, or just wants to make new friends is welcome!

There is no better way to meet and socialise with people than joining a society, but if you are looking to spend some fun French time outside lectures, then the French soc is what you are looking for! You’ll have the chance to make new friends who are on your course or share your interests, get a taste of francophone culture, and be part of a lively and close-knit society. We organise a range of events including French food and drink tasting, a trip to Paris, a Christmas meal, themed nights out, and the Modern Languages Ball.

We also run the Académie Française, a chance to practise your speaking skills in a friendly environment, with students who are in the same boat, so no pressure if you make mistakes !

Socials
We organise a variety of events from French food and wine tasting, to themed pub crawls, nights out and language practice sessions. 

Sports
Get involved in sport through French Society with our netball team. This is another great way to meet new people and take part in matches against other societies!
