Volunteering
Welcome to St. John Ambulance
Who are we?
Here at Leeds University St John Ambulance Society (LUSJAS), otherwise called the First Aid Society, and we believe that nobody should suffer from a lack of first aid.
Our society teaches university students and societies of all backgrounds in basic first aid. Come along to learn new skills, or contact us if your society would be interested in some informal first aid training!
There is also the opportunity to become a volunteer event first aider with St John Ambulance, which involves providing medical care to the public at events such as Headingley Stadium cricket and rugby, marathons and festivals.
How can I get involved?
We meet every Thursday at 18:00 in LUU. Rooms are confirmed through our mailing list, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Even if you can't make the first session or every session, you're more than welcome to join us whenever!
Learn to save a life
Weekly training sessions covering a range of topics (CPR, AED, choking, child & baby resuscitation)
Certificate of recognition after attending 10 sessions
First 2 sessions are free - then £5 per year
Socials
LUSJAS socials are all about spending time with the team and letting our hair down! We usually pop to Library pub after a training night, and sometimes do weekend trips away! A trip to Scammonden Scout hut is coming up soon, and we welcome anyone and everyone to come along to have some drinks, play games, and learn first aid. You don't even have to be a member to come along!
