About us
Film Society provides a space for film enthusiasts of all kinds to gather and watch new and classic films alongside other like-minded individuals.
Whatever your favourite genres – horror, romance, world cinema, blockbuster – you’ll find that at least some of our 22 screenings per semester (twice weekly) cater to your interest! Members have free access to screenings and a vast catalogue of films through our lending library! Members also have priority at our socials!
Our weekly screenings are exclusive to members only! Membership costs £5 for the 2025/26 academic year.
Socials
We have socials for everyone, from special screening events, such as our Halloween ‘Secret Screaming’, to pub nights, to trampolining, to karaoke, to our end-of-semester balls! Keep an eye out on our Instagram for weekly updates to our social schedule, as we're always adding new events and are always open to event suggestions!

Instagram / Letterboxd: @luufilm
Our Letterboxd is used to log all of the films we have watched as a society. The star ratings and reviews are generated based on the average rating given by members on our post-screening survey & our favourite review is chosen by the committee!
We use our Instagram to communicate any new information about the society! We upload our screening & events schedules near the start of each semester and use our story to promote any upcoming film events in Leeds! We also use Instagram to answer any questions!
Our WhatsApp channel is primarily used to provide any FilmSoc announcements and information.
We have multiple different chats to cater to all of your FilmSoc needs, including chats dedicated to helping you make friends with other students! We use WhatsApp for any event ticket exchanges too!
