WELCOME TO PHILSOC! 

Whether you study philosophy or not, we at PhilSoc are committed to being a place where people interested in philosophy can get together, share ideas, debate, and enjoy each other's company. We want to discuss the things you’re really interested in and give you a chance to meet like-minded people who share your passion!

But we are more than just an academic society…

We’re all about mixing the academic with the social. So what can you expect from us? 

We host a range of events including, wine and cheese nights with our lecturers who are at the forefront of philosophical research (and, occasionally, some special guests), pub quizzes with some amazing prizes, open mic nights where you can speak your philosophical truth to anyone willing to listen, and, without a doubt, some mad nights out. But we wouldn't be a proper society if we didn't plan an Otley Run or two so get your costumes ready!
