Winner of the 2026 “Most Improved Society” Riley Award

We are AstroSoc, a place for everyone interested in the stars!  At AstroSoc, you’ll have the chance to see the wonders of the Solar System and beyond with your own eyes using our new and improved observational inventory. Refreshed with new telescopes, lenses/filters, and cameras, AstroSoc has never been better equipped to share the joy of astronomy - both day and night!

Observation nights are organised through our WhatsApp community (link in Instagram bio) and are often organised last minute because, hey, UK weather 🌦️

We also have a mascot called Kevin. Kevin likes hot chocolate, cats and stars and dislikes clouds and light pollution. You can follow what he gets up to on our Instagram and WhatsApp 👩‍🚀✨

Membership:

Our membership is free for the entire academic year with which you get access to all social events including observation nights.

We also offer a donation membership which gets you the same thing but helps us maintain equipment and organise better events for you.
