We are AstroSoc, a place for everyone interested in the stars.  We hold regular stargazing sessions and run lectures from people experienced in astronomy, astrophysics, and astrophotography. At AstroSoc, you’ll have the chance to see the wonders of the solar system and beyond with your own eyes through one of our telescopes. We have planetarium sessions and Virtual Reality headsets for when the clouds set in as well. Overnight camping trips into the Moors and the Dales with unspoiled views of the sky are particularly popular.

Observation nights are organised through our WhatsApp community (link in instagram bio) and are often organised last minute because, hey, UK weather 🌦️ 

We now also have a mascot called Kevin. Kevin likes hot chocolate, cats and stars and dislikes clouds and light pollution. You can follow what he gets up to on our instagram and WhatsApp 👩‍🚀✨

Membership:

Our membership is free for the entire academic year with which you get access to all social events including Observation Nights.

We also offer a donation membership which gets you the same thing but helps us maintain equipment and organise better events for you.
