Sustainability Society for the Faculty of Environment

Academic

Welcome to Sustainability Society for the Faculty of Environment

The sustainability society is the newest society within the Faculty of Environment, and we are open to all who would like to get involved and socialise with new people. We aim to provide opportunities for members to meet each other through fortnightly socials, faculty sports teams as well as via trips and volunteering opportunities.

Academic Links

As a Faculty society (meaning we are part of the University), we aim to connect students to companies and local charities through volunteering and networking opportunities, and bring a sense of community within the Faculty of Environment, the University, and Leeds as a whole. Our members run the Student Journal - "Discovering Sustainability" and share student voices about topical environmental and social issues.

Socials

We already have some big plans for socials in the next year! Some to note down include themed Otley Runs, Pub quizzes, movie nights, clothes swaps, Christmas market visits and hopefully a summer ball if we get enough interest. We are also hoping to run a few trips too!

Sport

Football team and netball team up and running (excuse the pun)... We are keen to get as many people involved as possible so please don't hesitate to get stuck in! No experience is necessary, just a will to connect with others and some perseverance with the good old British weather.

Memberships

Memberships are now live, and will allow members free/discounted entry to all events as well as a number of perks yet to be announced.

In the meantime please feel free to drop us an email with any questions you might have, we look forward to meeting you all soon:  sustainabilitysociety@luu.group
