The Southern Africa Society is a welcoming space for students at Leeds to connect, celebrate and experience the best of Southern African culture. Whether you’re from Southern Africa, have a connection to the region, or simply want to learn more, everyone is welcome!

Expect good food, great music, fun socials, meaningful conversations and new friendships. From cultural food nights, film screenings, music and dance sessions to karaoke, games nights and other socials, there’s always something to get involved in.

We’re also about more than just events. We want to create a supportive community where members can meet people, feel at home, share experiences and build connections. Our networking events will also give you opportunities to meet professionals across industries including medicine, business and engineering.
