Union Music Library

Music & Performance

Welcome to Union Music Library

We are a community, volunteer-run music library up in a room on Level 2 of the Leeds University Union, with over 6000 records, CDs and tapes for everyone to enjoy.

From Indie Rock to experimental Ethiopian Jazz, there's something for everyone to explore.

So come visit during our opening times, or freshers events we’ll be posting on our instagram @leedsuml, to listen to your favourite music, relax, and make some new friends.

You can buy a membership to borrow stuff from the library, and even sign up to become a volunteer and help run the library throughout the week.

Events:

During the year we’ll be putting on our Strange Parade gigs showcasing talented musicians from within our society and around Leeds. We also host pub quizzes as well as discounted nights out, joint socials with other societies, and sober socials. This year we are introducing Sunday Slump where you can come relax in the library to end the week, Listening Parties where we choose a record to put on and hopefully introduce people to new genres and forms of music, Vinyl DJ-ing workshops, and Tiny Desk concerts in the library.

So become a UML member and join the community, and from 12-4pm on weekdays, you can bring along your uni work, arty projects, or simply yourself and come and chill and listen to good music with us.
