Formation Description
We are starting the Vietnamese Society of Leeds (VietSoc Leeds) to fulfill a significant need for cultural representation, community support, and integration on the University of Leeds campus.
- Essential Support Network: There is currently a large and growing number of Vietnamese students at the University of Leeds who lack a dedicated, official support structure to help them navigate academic and social life in the UK. VietSoc Leeds will serve as a vital 'home away from home,' providing peer support and pastoral care.
- Cultural Enrichment: We believe that the University of Leeds would greatly benefit from a dedicated society to actively showcase the diverse and vibrant culture of Vietnam. We will contribute significantly to the university’s multicultural atmosphere through engaging cultural events and educational initiatives.
- Active Contribution to the Leeds University Union: By officially registering, we can leverage the resources of the Leeds University Union to host larger, more impactful events, collaborate effectively with other national and cultural societies, and ensure the Vietnamese student voice is heard.
