Formation Description
This society could be an ideal alternative to playing for the basketball team, which is usually competitive and exclusive. It would provide an indoor environment for social players, accessible all year, rather than outdoor courts such as in Hyde Park.
We are aware that there is already a development squad for the basketball club in which players can improve their skills. However, we believe that a casual alternative to this would be popular amongst social players, as our sessions would be free, uncoached, and at more accessible times (as players select when they want to play).
Another benefit of this society is that while there are already groups of social players that play weekly, they will not have to go through the process of booking a court (for example, at the Edge) which can be a very difficult process. Through doing this, we could unite different groups of social basketball players, which as mentioned, provides a great opportunity for meeting new people.
