Formation Description

LMDACS was previously an active society but became inactive due to a period of low engagement. We are now reviving it with renewed leadership, energy, and a clear plan to sustain activity long-term.

Our vision is to continue the legacy of LMDACS while expanding its reach through collaboration, mentorship, and cultural celebration, ensuring Afro-Caribbean healthcare students feel supported, seen, and empowered at Leeds.

Members will gain access to peer mentoring, networking with healthcare professionals, and career development workshops. The society creates space for cultural celebration, well-being support and awareness of healthcare inequalities. By joining LMDACS, students can build friendships, gain valuable leadership and organisational experience, and help strengthen representation and inclusion within medicine, dentistry and all healthcare courses at Leeds.
