Formation Description
A common issue with medics and dentists who want to play sport is that our timetables do not allow us to join existing LUU teams as we can not make a lot of their training times or attend fixtures. LMD basketball aims to provide training sessions that fit within the timetables of medics and dentists but will also be open to other students who’d also like to join. I myself am a 2nd year postgrad entry dental student and did my undergrad in Leeds. I’ve played for the University of Leeds men’s basketball team for 6 years, having captained and coached the 3rd team. Now that I’m in dental school I won’t be able to play for the university anymore so I thought it would be a good idea to start this society as I know there are many people (both beginners and experienced players) on our course that would be interested and we already have 30+ sign ups! Most of all I just love the sport and want to give people accessible opportunities to play and learn in a friendly environment.
